Through the Ages

In 1938 the McLaren Park Committee purchased from Mr. H.B. Pridmore a strip of ground in the township, and on the portion facing the main road a six-rink bowling green was laid down, thanks mainly to the enthusiastic planning and tireless services of Mr. Gerald Ward. This was opened by Mr. Pridmore in February 1940.

John Talbot Memorial Men’s Fours

McLaren Vale Bowling Club’s biggest event of the year will be held on the 9th and 10th of December, 2024. John Talbot (1942 –2021) was a Life Member, President, Club Champion and State player on 10 occasions. In 2021, the John Talbot Green was named after him to recognise his contribution to McLaren Vale Bowling Club. John organised this event for 23 years, hosting teams from across the State and interstate. He also introduced the concept of Friday Night teas, which remain a popular social gathering for members, their families and the wider community. All Club Members are encouraged to put these dates in the diary and to consider assisting with either the /catering of the days or the associated functions.
